Dr. Jay Rudd has been in private practice as a fellowship-trained cornea, cataract and refractive surgeon since 2000 and has performed thousands of vision correction procedures for the residents of Olympia, Lacey and beyond.
Accomplished and meticulous, Dr. Rudd uses his expertise to achieve the best possible outcomes in the operating room. He is his patient’s strongest advocate, offering only the most appropriate surgical care that is in their best interest. Education
Dr. Rudd received his Bachelors of Science at the University of California, Los Angeles followed by a Doctor of Medicine at Jefferson Medical College (now Sidney Kimmel Medical College) in Philadelphia. He completed his residency at the prestigious Wills Eye Hospital, consistently ranked among the top ophthalmology programs in the country. Dr. Rudd further specialized in Cornea and Refractive Surgery during his fellowship at the John A. Moran Eye Center at the University of Utah.

Research and Academic
Contributions
Dr. Rudd has contributed significantly to the field of ophthalmology through his involvement in numerous FDA studies over the past two decades, primarily focusing on multifocal intraocular lenses for Cataract Surgery and Refractive Lens Exchange (RLE). He authored the “Refractive Surgery Complications” chapter in the renowned textbook, Duane’s Clinical Ophthalmology, published in 2000.
